McLeod Health hosted a ribbon cutting celebration at the new McLeod Health Carolina Forest Surgical Center on Tuesday, April 1. An open house and tours were available to the community. The McLeod Health Carolina Forest Surgery Center is in Building 3 on the McLeod Health Carolina Forest campus near the intersection of International Drive and Highway 31.

“It’s an exciting time for McLeod Health and the Carolina Forest community,” said Scott Montgomery, CEO of McLeod Health Carolina Forest and McLeod Health Loris. “McLeod Health’s mission is to be the healthcare choice for the region. The new McLeod Health Carolina Forest Surgery Center is an example of this promise to the patients we serve.”

Community members had the opportunity to tour the new 20,000 square foot facility, the largest outpatient surgery center in Horry County. McLeod Health Carolina Forest Surgical Center provides surgical care in Plastics, Urology, Gastroenterology, Ear, Nose and Throat, Orthopedics, Pain Management, and Gynecology. This state-of-the-art surgical center consists of 17 pre-post, two procedure rooms, and four ORs. An estimated 5,000 procedures will be completed the first year.

This dedicated team of healthcare professionals is committed to providing the highest quality care in the safest environment possible. McLeod Health’s goal is to ensure patients feel informed, supported, and confident in their surgical journey.

This marks a significant milestone in the development of a new hospital on the McLeod Health Carolina Forest campus, which is expected to be complete by the fall of 2026.
