Dr. Michael Sutton demonstrates a surgical tool he uses when performing orthopedic surgery to members of the Palmetto Leadership Dillon County group during their visit to McLeod Health Dillon.

On Thursday, October 10, McLeod Health Dillon hosted Palmetto Leadership Dillon County for their Healthcare Awareness day.

Throughout the day, the group heard presentations about various accomplishments of the hospital, including the Baby Friendly Designation, Stroke Ready certification and the addition of 3D Mammography.

Presenters included Tommy Moody, Director of Radiology, who spoke to the group about 3D Mammography and the importance of screenings to prevent breast cancer; Orthopedic Surgeon Dr. Michael Sutton who shared advancements in joint replacements, and the Mi-Eye, a new diagnostic procedure he is performing in office; and Tracy Pelt, Director of Security and Emergency Management, led the group on a tour and explained security measures taken daily to keep the hospital secure.
