Nurse Residency Graduation Held at McLeod Health Seacoast

McLEOD HEALTH SEACOAST 25 MARCH 2025

On March 20, 26 nurses graduated from the Nurse Residency Program at McLeod Health Seacoast. The Nurse Residency Program was established in 2020, during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, to help facilitate a seamless transition for novice nurses from the classroom to the patient’s bedside.

The program is designed for Registered Nurses with less than 12 months of RN experience. It involves six monthly seminars with varied topics, but central to the three main components of leadership, patient outcomes and professional role. Content is provided through role-playing, hands-on skills, case studies, shadowing and simulation.

Since its inception, the Nurse Residency Program at McLeod Health Seacoast has successfully graduated 90 nurses.
