Monica Gilchrist, RN, a Staff Nurse on the Medical/Surgical floor at McLeod Health Dillon received the facility’s first DAISY Award on October 17.

In her nomination, a patient’s wife, also a former nurse, recalled Monica “taking the time to talk to my husband making him feel calm and relaxed” during a weak moment.

Monica’s family attended the surprise award presentation along with her co-workers from the Medical/Surgical team.
