The McLeod Breast Health Team and McLeod General Surgeon Dr. Allison Foster participated in the Women’s Health event held on Saturday, March 8 at the McLeod Health and Fitness Center. The event, held in observance of International Women’s Day, included a women’s 2K Run/Walk, free health screenings and group fitness classes. During a lunch and learn session, Dr. Foster with Pee Dee Surgical Group educated attendees on the importance of colon cancer awareness and prevention. The Breast Health team, represented by Maureen Byrd, FNP-C, CBCN; Angela McNeil, RN; Tracey O’Neal, RN, CBCN; and Kenisha Robinson, RN, BSN; also answered questions and provided women with information on screening mammograms, dense breast tissue and the McLeod High-Risk Breast Clinic.
