Pamela Elliott, RN, BSN, MHA, has been named the Chief Corporate Compliance Officer for McLeod Health. Elliott returns to McLeod after relocating to Columbia, SC, in January 2024 to serve as Vice President of Clinical Services for Palmetto Infusion.
As the Chief Corporate Compliance Officer, Elliott reports to the President and CEO while making recommendations to the Board of Trustees and supports the organization in maintaining policies and procedures to remain within the healthcare industry’s regulatory framework. She is also responsible for managing the day-to-day operation of the Compliance and HIPAA Privacy Programs at McLeod; evaluating compliance risks and mitigation processes; identifying potential gaps and weaknesses in the program; assessing staffing capabilities and needs; examining the processes and manner by which reported complaints, allegations and concerns are addressed; addressing any identified compliance issues and privacy data breaches; providing an overall assessment of the current state of the Compliance Program; and developing recommendations and suggestions for program improvement.
Elliott joined McLeod Health in 2005. She most recently served as the Epic Project Administrator for the organization. In this role, she managed the scope, schedule, and quality of the project, as well as communicating with staff. She also guided the project team through the implementation and served as the central point of communication, maintaining a common vision, plan and goal across all areas of the project.
During her career with McLeod, Elliott served as Vice President of Patient Services for McLeod Regional Medical Center; Associate Vice President of Medical Services and Cancer Services; Director of the Inpatient Oncology/Hematology Unit for McLeod Regional Medical Center and as a Clinical Instructor for the McLeod Practice Development department.
Prior to her work with McLeod, Elliott cared for patients at another local hospital as a Registered Nurse in Cardiology/ Telemetry, Intensive Care, and the Emergency Department, as an Infection Control Practitioner and Director of Wound Care.
Elliott holds a Master of Health Administration degree from the University of South Carolina. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from the Medical University of South Carolina and earned her Associate of Nursing degree from Florence-Darlington Technical College.
In the community, she has served as a board member for the United Way of Florence County and on the Community Investment Committee. She is also a graduate of Leadership South Carolina and Leadership Florence and has served as an Ambassador for the Florence Chamber of Commerce.
Elliott received the South Carolina Infection Control Practitioner of the Year award in 1996. She was also honored in 2003 as one of five recipients out of 3000 to receive Florence-Darlington Technical College’s Outstanding Alumni award.
