On February 8th, high school students attended an optional Summer Youth Apprenticeship Meeting to explore the program. They heard from Apprenticeship Carolina, Florence-Darlington Technical College, and past apprentice Meira McKithen, now a Medical Surgical Technician at McLeod.

The McLeod Health Youth Apprenticeship Program provides students with hands-on training while they complete their education. Participants gain Certified Nursing Assistant training, on-the-job experience under skilled professionals, and paid opportunities to develop workforce skills.

Up to eight students, meeting the following minimum criteria, will be accepted this summer:

• Must be at least 16 years old by June 1, 2025
• Must not have already graduated high school by the summer
