McLeod Health Dillon Begins Inpatient Hemodialysis

McLEOD HEALTH DILLON 24 APRIL 2025

McLeod Health Dillon will now provide inpatient hemodialysis, offering a significant enhancement to patient care and a valuable resource to the community.

Inpatient hemodialysis is provided to hospitalized patients who require urgent or continuous dialysis due to acute or chronic kidney failure.

This service will provide dialysis treatment to patients who are admitted to McLeod Health Dillon for various medical conditions: acute kidney injury, chronic kidney disease, or medical complications such as sepsis or heart failure.

Hemodialysis helps to remove waste products, excess fluids and toxins from the blood, improving overall health and quality of life.

Inpatient hospital hemodialysis ensures safe and effective treatment as it is closely monitored by a medical team of McLeod Health Dillon physicians and trained nurses. Patients undergoing this treatment will have access to advanced resources not typically found in outpatient settings: ICU services, laboratory and diagnostic imaging.

“Inpatient hemodialysis is essential for critically ill patients, providing timely, monitored dialysis therapy in a hospital setting,” said Kasey Bustamante, Chief Nursing Officer at McLeod Health Dillon. “It will reduce complications and improve patient outcomes.”
