McLeod Health Welcomes These New Physicians

McLeod Health welcomes Charles A. Kelly, MD, and Nathan Schmulewitz, MD, to the medical staff.

Dr. Kelly is a Neurologist serving patients at McLeod Neurology Seacoast partnering with Dr. Olinda Spencer, Dr. Nicolas Koroneos and Katelyn Mason, PA-C. He will be located on the McLeod Health Carolina Forest campus. Dr. Kelly served in the ROTC at Cornell University, then chose to spend time in the U.S. Army serving as a neurologist in Washington D.C. and Korea. He comes to McLeod Health from Tidewater Neurology in Charleston, SC, where he cared for patients for more than 15 years. After serving the Low Country, Dr. Kelly chose to call Myrtle Beach his home. Dr. Schmulewitz joins Dr. Glorimar Caldera and Dr. Lacie Edmison in providing excellent patient care at McLeod Digestive Health Center Seacoast. Dr. Schmulewitz comes to McLeod Health from West Chester Hospital in West Chester, Ohio. He was also on faculty at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine in Cincinnati, Ohio, for 19 years in the Digestive Diseases division. Board Certified in Gastroenterology, Dr. Schmulewitz received his medical degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York and completed his residency at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. Fellowship training followed at Duke University Medical Center, Durham, North Carolina, and the Medical University of South Carolina, Charleston, South Carolina. With more than 20 years of clinical experience, Dr. Schmulewitz provides the full spectrum of digestive health care for conditions affecting the esophagus, stomach, small intestine, colon, liver, pancreas, and gallbladder, with a special interest and training in endoscopic ultrasound.
