McLeod Health welcomes Ryan D. Gilbert, MD, and Bruce J. Kowalski, MD, FACC, to the medical staff.

Dr. Gilbert serves patients at McLeod Dillon Family Medicine alongside physicians Dr. Michael N. Brown, Dr. Timothy Fitzgibbon, Dr. Robin Shealy, and Dr. Granville Vance, as well as advanced practitioners Holly Rowell, FNP, Loryn Britt, FNP, Teresa Dietz, FNP, Donna Sellers, FNP, Morgan Hicks, PA-C, and Lauren Small, FNP. As a family medicine physician, Dr. Gilbert treats patients with a broad spectrum of health care needs, from earaches and upper respiratory infections to diabetes, high blood pressure, COPD and asthma. He provides care for children aged one and older, geriatric patients, and all ages in between. While serving as a missionary in the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico for approximately two years, Dr. Gilbert realized what helping others brought to his life and was inspired to pursue medicine as a career. Beyond medical interests, he enjoys sports, outdoor activities, sings and plays several musical instruments. Dr. Gilbert and his wife, Katherine, have three children. Dr. Kowalski provides cardiology services to the Horry County and Southern Brunswick County communities at McLeod Cardiology Associates. Dr. Kowalski, along with his partners, Dr. Nathan Almeida, Dr. Peter Duffy, Dr. Anne Everman, Dr. William Jackson, Dr. Nicholas Jebaily, Dr. Gavin Leask, Dr. Joseph Marmora, Dr. Amit Pande, Dr. Kishore Subnani, Chandler Heaps, FNP, Ryan Hill, FNP, Lora Martin, FNP, Hannah McCallum, AGACNP, Elizabeth Stevens, FNP, Kelly Thumma, FNP, and Emily Whitehurst, FNP, offer exemplary heart care. Board Certified in Cardiovascular Disease and Internal Medicine, Dr. Kowalski received his medical degree from Marshall University, Huntington, West Virginia in 1991. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency in 1994, followed by a Cardiology Fellowship in 1997, both at The Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio. Prior to joining McLeod Health, Dr. Kowalski practiced with Duke Health in a private cardiology clinic for more than 25 years. Dr. Kowalski resides in Myrtle Beach with his wife, Anne. They share three daughters, Merry Kathryn, Elizabeth, and Caroline. Dr. Kowalski enjoys spending time outdoors by hiking, biking, and swimming. He is accepting new patients.
