McLeod Loris Seacoast Security Officer Joseph Mannino was honored for his life-saving actions on December 14, 2022, at the North Myrtle Beach Aquatic and Fitness Center. North Myrtle Beach Fire Chief Garry Spain presented Mannino and six other community members with the Citizen Heroism Award from the North Myrtle Beach Fire Rescue Department. The group was recognized for their quick actions when a fellow North Myrtle Beach Aquatic and Fitness Center member went into cardiac arrest while using a rowing machine. Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) were used until crews with the North Myrtle Beach Fire Rescue Department could arrive.
