McLeod NICU Moves to New Space

McLEOD REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER 18 JUNE 2021

McLeod staff members assist with moving Neonatal Intensive Care Unit babies to their private rooms in McLeod Pavilion East.

The McLeod Neonatal Intensive Care Unit has moved into their new home on the third floor in McLeod Pavilion East, the newly constructed building located between the McLeod Pavilion Tower and McLeod Medical Park East.

Featuring 48 private rooms, the new NICU provides greater rooming-in and bonding opportunities for the entire family. In addition, several adjoining rooms keep families with multiple babies together, allowing parents to move freely between each room.

The design of this space not only supports the growth and development of premature and critically ill babies, but also helps parents become more involved in the baby’s care. These elements are crucial to helping families thrive during and after their NICU experience.

The McLeod team of Neonatologists, Neonatal Nurse Practitioners, and specially-trained nurses and care teams deliver the most advanced care to the tiniest of babies. As a Level III NICU, the highest designation in our region, the McLeod NICU cares for babies weighing less than even one pound.
